Pastor Voretta R. Allen-Nesby was born in Brandon MS to Deacon J.P. and Mrs. Hattie Pearl McKee-Allen (deceased), and the eldest of (2) siblings. She is a product of the Jackson Public School District upon graduating from Lanier High School, she attended Jackson State University where she studied nursing, then transferred to Howard University in Washington DC.

Pastor Nesby began her Christian walk at the Truevine Missionary Baptist in Brandon, MS under the late Pastor Louis Gardner, during this time she served as the musician for the choir until 1987. In 1987, she relocated to Washington DC, where she united with Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church under Bishop Alfred and Co-Pastor Susie Owens there she served as a Jr. Missionary, Praise Team and United Voices of Calvary Recording Choir Member, she also served as the Minister of Music for God’s Universal Kingdom under the late Bishop Fernette S. During her tenure at Truevine, she was responsible for rehearsing and overseeing (5) choirs and a staff of musicians on a weekly basis. She served Truevine and Pastor Randall faithfully until October of 2005 when her husband was called to lead the Ratliff Chapel MB Church as Senior Pastor.

During this time she and her husband reconnected to Archbishop Alfred and Co-Pastor Susie Owens and joined Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church. Then on December 29th 2013, the Lord shifted them to step out on faith to give birth and launch The Gathering of Believers Church where she is the Elect Lady and serves as Executive Pastor.
